The importance of SEO & Content Marketing

The goal of SEO is to get the right eyes on the right piece of content each time. How to do this? Targeting, technical tune-ups etc to drive traffic in the right direction: to your website. You need content for SEO: blog posts, images, descriptions, articles. SEO will work through constantly adding content to your site and utilising keywords.

Designing your content with search engines in mind

Keyword stuffing is so 2005 - it’s time to put a bit more thought into what you're uploading on your website and how to correctly utilise it across all platforms.

Break your content up into different areas - and have them be as narrow as possible. This will also help you to populate your content calendar (vital in this day and time!). Do all the prep work and it makes everything else a breeze: repurposing your long-form content for social media, batch creating pieces so you can “set it and forget it”... all to create a seamless content marketing strategy.

Continuous creation

This is where the hard work comes in: coming up with content ideas to post regularly. One of the biggest factors in determining SEO value is how frequently you’re updating or posting content. Each piece signals new (or updated) content, and therefore new keywords you’re adding to the bank for search parameters.

Link value

Encourage reputable sites to backlink your content: this will also increase your SEO value as it shows your website is the place to go for information on that particular topic. The algorithm will reward your website accordingly.

SEO vs Content Marketing

Can you have one without the other? Not really - they do work hand in hand in order to get your website higher up in the search results. Once you’ve got the hang of creating niche content and gradually adding it to your website or platform, you’ll start seeing results in no time.
