It’s me, hi!
No, I’m not the problem!
Here we are: more than a year of my business, and I’m finally introducing myself on my company website. 9 Dragons Digital is a labour of love - and a one-woman show - so this is my opportunity to share more about me to my audience.
Here are 5 things about me:
I’m a weird-culture kid
I’m ethnically Indian, born in Kowloon, Hong Kong, studied in Sheffield, United Kingdom and now I live in Singapore. You’ll hear me code-switch from polished English, to Singlish, to Chinglish in the span of one conversation!
I’m born in the Year of the Dragon…
And the English translation of “Kowloon”, where I was born, means 9 Dragons. Is the name of my business making a bit more sense now?
Aside from that, Google states that those born in the Year of the Dragon are charismatic, intelligent, confident and naturally lucky and gifted. But that’s up to you to decide if I’m any, some or all of those things!
Coffee + Tea (no, not yuenyeung!)
I enjoy both coffee and tea, and have been known to have both beverages on the go at the same time. Yep, I’m a beverage girl.
I savour lattes (usually sweetened with honey), and herbal teas are my jam. Once in a blue moon, you’ll catch me drinking a small cup of masala chai.
I’m a dumpling darling
I love dumplings of any kind. From xiao long baos and pierogies, to raviolis, momos and gyoza: you name it, I’ll eat it.
And no - Singapore’s dim sum scene doesn’t quite match up to Hong Kong!
I was a passenger princess…
… until the age of 33. Despite having a driving licence for 15 years, I never actually got behind the wheel until recently, and now I fight to have access to the car.
If any of this resonates with you, please reach out - I’d love to chat! Maybe over a latte or a cup of tea, or even over a dumpling dinner.
